I used to ask myself that can I ever become a billionaire (in Rupees)! I had dreams, still do.

Very early, I realized what was my calling in life and what talents I possessed to make it Large. I was exposed to classroom teaching (Science Tuitions) for the first time in Class VIII and ever since I had wanted to become a teacher. The path was not clear as to how I can make it.

We are told that we have lot of choices but do we actually have it? There is this Wicked word called “Career”; for a vast majority, it boils down to ‘Secured Income’. We are living in an interdependent society and even though Mother supports us in our decisions yet Friends, Seniors, Relatives, Acquaintances – they all influence us. We feel ‘Answerable’ to all of them. “Koi puchhega toh kya jawab denge?” It takes tons of guts to go with your own calling and ignore these scarecrows.

I was literally harangued by all these questions for very long time. Even when I left KPMG, my so-called friends took all steps to belittle/taunt me (not discourage, but look down upon). The word “Teacher” rang a wrong bell in their head. Teacher sounded like a local masterji, a disgraceful job; whereas the fact is that even a local masterji earns ≥ 2 lacs per month, way more than a white collared CA. Even today, I face such questions from XXXXX.

Back to the story, how did I penetrate the extremely competitive market (Trust me it is a monopoly business).

Step 1:- ADAPT: Darwin’s theory. I wanted to be a Practical Paper (Costing) teacher as I was from Science background and I knew I could kill everyone else. But Success = Strength + Opportunity(SWOT). I wanted to be a teacher so badly that I reluctantly started teaching Law & Audit. Even that was a DRY market as there was no room for a new IPCC Law/Audit teacher.

Step 2:- STUBBORN: If you are talented, you have to be stubborn, obstinate, ‘Ziddi’, ‘Dheethh’. (Persistent is a very soft word). And so I started with CA Final Law/Audit with 4 students in February 2012 (There was no culture of taking Law/Audit tuitions in CA Final). Audit was naturally easy for me because I have strong academic & Practical Experience in auditing (Thanks to KPMG). Law was tough. But I kept on researching, memorizing, rehearsing, improvising, et all. First 2.5 years were the hardest in my life. My confidence was all time Low and whenever I saw students outside other teacher’s class (including SFM) I would get suicidal. But I had that ‘keeda’ to keep me going through these times.

Outcome:- SUPER SUCCESS:

I read a story from Shiv Khera’a book about Chinese Bamboo tree that shows no signs of growth for 4 years despite watering and then all of a sudden shoots upto 60 feet in the 5th year. For me it was 2.5 years.

Now the dream seems visible after few years.

So are YOU ready to pay the price for your dreams!!??
